About the artistic work

Agricola de Cologne’s artistic work is physical, as well as virtual, both mutually pervasive cannot be separated from each other. The juxtaposition of physical and virtual space is playing a particular role., generating the artist’s specific dual system in which the virtual space of the Internet is equal to physical objects of art and their manifestation in physical space.
Above that, his individual artistic (physical and virtual) creation is juxtaposed with another kind of specific art expression – the curating – eg. taking responsibility for art, artists, time and space – related to a public – the audience – in a socially collective context. Since 2000, curating – being active in a network, became the second column of his artistic creation, whereby the network is not only related externally to the networked artists, curators, cultural institutions, but internally also to the artist‘s individual projects and sub-projects like they can experienced on the more than 100 networked project sites and his project platforms online.
This networking principle allows him to compose events (exhibitions, festival, screening) according to a kind of modular sytem.
Time (memory) & identity form the central topics. The artist’s work is time based art in its best sense, representing an all encompassing whole, a networking construction giving room to his numerous projects and sub-projects and their manifestation in physical and virtual space.
